National Political and Security
During the year, the national security situation markedly worsened. Armed clashes took place across six states between government and opposition forces. Government forces were largely responsible for aggression, with a prominent general reported to be urging his soldiers to kill all the Nuer civilians: men, women and children. Fortunately, our operational area maintained relative stability throughout 2025.
Education Programs
We supported five theological students, with one graduating to serve as youth coordinator for the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan. The Pibor Presbyterian Primary School continues to thrive with its teachers paid by our ministry. Additional educational initiatives include:
- Theological Education by Extension (TEE) launching in 2026
- The Shalom Program assisting approximately 10 orphans annually in Kenya’s Kakuma Refugee Camp
- Sponsorship of two young men pursuing education in Uganda
- A board member sponsoring four girls in Ugandan schools
Advanced Education
Three university students receive sponsorship in development-focused majors, with plans to return home upon graduation.
Health
A building has been outfitted with furniture and provided with the necessary medical equipment to open the Midwife Clinic. Our first sponsored Nurse-Midwife will arrive in February 2026.
Peacemaking
Rev. James Zeelu applied advanced peacemaking training across Greater Pibor Administrative Area. Peace through Evangelism teams trained approximately 120 youth leaders across four counties. 2025 was among the most peaceful years in the area for the past 16 years — we credit education, theology, and peacemaking initiatives for this progress.
Humanitarian Support
Goats were distributed to malnourished women unable to nurse infants. Flood-displaced families received tarps, shelter, blankets, cooking utensils, and ground covers.
Pochalla Mission Trip
A five-person team visited Pochalla in mid-February, accomplishing:
- Distribution of audio Bibles in local languages
- Distribution of reading and sunglasses
- Meetings with local church leadership
- Assessment and relocation of a solar water system
- Provision of improved sorghum seeds
2026 Goals
- Secure funding to reopen Pibor Secondary School
- Establish the Nurse-Midwife Clinic with salary support
- Continue biblical and theological education through TEE
- Leverage graduating students for community development
- Maintain existing programs
Financial Health
We completed 2025 with a net increase of $9,666 against $118,186 in total expenses. The 2026 budget is approximately $110,000. Primary funding sources include Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church, Trinity Presbytery, individual donations, First Presbyterian Church of Columbia, and South Carolina Presbytery.
Nothing could be accomplished without you! Thousands of people in South Sudan who have been positively impacted also thank you!
